A rare and common findToday, I found something.A rare and common find
Something small, but far from trifling. Something worn with age, yet undeniably alive.

Of a Different KindSome slip silently, leaving tinted paths. Some pool and vanish, successfully held back. Some are swiftly swept away, unseen by prying eyes. Some are left to freely fall, or drift until they dry.Of a Different Kind
But these, They are different, a far cry from the rest. No subtlety, no privacy, no element of softness.
They warn not of their coming, They have a silent spark. They merely leave their victim to whistle in the dark.
You know the sensation; They have stolen you before. The strength They take when They escape leaves you writhing on the floor. Each attempt to throw Them of


Awake, I WaitEven as the tears fall from my eyes, A perfect mirror to the clouds outside, I wait for something unknown. How strange a feeling has come over me? A Bond Worth the WorldI close the gate to the round corral behind me and quietly untie the knot on Sassys woven rope halter. Instead of moving to the middle though, like I have always done when were preparing for workouts, I plod over to a spot by the fence and sit down where the honey-warm sunlight has not yet soaked the ground. Sassy trots off and begins prancing along the gate, waiting for me to pick up the whip and put her to work. I dont; only sit and pretend to fiddle with a wood chip or two, at the same time glancing out of the corner of my eye to observe her reaction to this strange new practice.
